Stain Restoration

Red Clay & Rust Removal
in Greensboro, NC

Water won't wash it off. I use specialized chemistry to safely dissolve orange irrigation stains, metal rust, and stubborn NC red clay.

Why Pressure Washing Fails

"It's not dirt. It's a chemical reaction."

Whether it's the red clay in our soil, a rusty patio table, or hard water from your sprinklers, they all share one thing: Iron Oxide.

When iron oxidizes, it bonds chemically with your concrete or siding. Standard pressure washing uses water and bleach, which does absolutely nothing to rust (in fact, it often sets the stain deeper).

The Solution: I use specialized restoration acids—like F9 BARC & OneRestore—that chemically neutralize the iron. This breaks the bond and allows the rust to be rinsed away without damaging the surface.

Common Rust Issues

I remove all forms of inorganic staining.

Metal Stains

Rust rings left by patio furniture, propane tanks, or tools left out in the rain.

Irrigation Rust

Orange discoloration on fences and siding caused by iron-rich well water sprinklers.

Fertilizer Rust

Little orange spots on the driveway caused by iron in lawn fertilizer pellets.

NC Red Clay

The classic Carolina stain on foundations and driveway edges caused by mud runoff.

Martin's Pro Tip: Stop The "Red Ring"

Concrete and brick act like hard sponges.

  • On Driveways: Runoff washes clay into the pores.
  • On Foundations: Rain splashes red mud up onto the bottom 2 feet of your brick (the "Splash Zone").
If we clean it but don't seal it, the stains return with the next rainstorm.

The Fix: Ask about my "Splash Zone" Sealing Service. I apply a breathable, hydrophobic masonry sealer to your driveway and foundation. This creates an invisible shield so the red clay simply rinses off instead of soaking in.

Restoration vs. Cleaning

Why rust removal is a specialized add-on service.

Standard Pressure Washing Rust & Clay Restoration
Uses water & mild soap. Uses specialized acids & neutralizers.
Removes organic dirt, algae, & mold. Removes inorganic rust, oxidation & minerals.
Included in standard packages. Quoted as a separate restoration fee.
Results are immediate. May require multiple applications/brushing.

Rust FAQ

In most cases, I can remove 90-100% of the discoloration. However, concrete is porous. If a rust stain has been baking into the concrete for 10+ years, a faint shadow may remain deep in the pores. I always set realistic expectations before I start.

Yes, when handled by a professional. I pre-soak the surrounding grass with water to create a buffer, apply the acid carefully to the stain, and neutralize the runoff immediately. I take plant protection very seriously.

Yes, but battery acid is unique. It is an acid burn, not just a stain. My process can neutralize the orange color and significantly improve the appearance, but the physical texture of the concrete may remain slightly etched from the initial burn.
